It’s Day 3 and we are making a quick run back to Auckland before we hit the Coromandel on Sunday, just as all the Aucklander’s are heading home. Our original intention was to head down the western corridor through the amazing Waipoua forest and home to the giant Kauri trees, but the boys were exhausted after yesterday’s big ride.
It’s another beautiful day for weather and hot. We almost got caught up in a major road accident which shut down SHWY 1 for about 6 hours, however we hit the back roads and rode around the traffic.
Lunch at the Puhoi cheese factory is always a great treat. The Hells Angels had their poker run on today, so we passed them near the Dome valley and then made our final into the city, next is the Coromandel Loop and the Cruise de Cuisine.
