Insurance - Excess Reduction Offer - Available on Hires of 7 days or greater
The insurance provided by Bularangi Motorbikes for riders who hire our bikes covers damage to the bike while it is in the hirer's care, custody, or control. The insurance also covers damage caused to third parties or their property, provided the hirer is liable for the damage or loss.
In the event of an accident where the hirer is at fault, the hirer is responsible for the first NZD$3,000 of damage. Their maximum liability in case of any accident or incident is NZ$3,000. This is taken as a hold on a credit card when bike is picked up and can also be given as US$ cash if they prefer.
We offer an optional Excess Reduction insurance option, on hires of 7 days or greater only, which allows you to reduce this NZD$3,000 excess to NZD$500 for a daily surcharge. The cost of this policy is:
- Aged 34 and under - NZ$35 per day
- Aged 35 and over - NZ$30 per day
If you wish to purchase this additional coverage, please let us know, and we will arrange for it to be in place for your hire period. If you decline this policy, a NZD$3,000 bond will be required at the start of the hire. If you opt for the Excess Reduction insurance, the bond will be NZD$500.
